Resume Database Software - keywords work history
Resume database software by BlackDog will parse or process resumes
for keywords and build a work history. The resume can be from
any source, hard drive, internet or email. The resume can be
in any file format WORD, WORDPERFECT, HTML, XML, PFD, TEXT
etc. The resume can be written in any creative style by
the applicant.
I believe one of the most important
recruitment functions you can do with a
resume is to parse the resume for keywords. However it is
important where the keywords are placed once they are found in a
resume. We place these keywords on the main screen. We
call this screen the profile screen. Our
executive search software has been deliberately,
methodically designed for Twenty-Five years to keep the
recruiter on this
one screen to answer every question about what you just searched for.
We place keywords/skills on the
applicants or clients main screen because we
don't want you to have to change screens to the resume screen
and spend unnecessary time searching for everything that might possibly equate to the skill set you are looking for.
For example, a person with general ledger
experience in the financial industry but not insurance or mortgage banking.
Let
me
think. First I must be aware of the ways 'General
Ledger' experience can be represented on a resume. So my
search for resumes has to look something like this; G/L or GL or
General Ledger or Gen. Ledger or etc. Then I have to exclude
those resume that have mortgage banking or insurance. That is
tough to do working with the raw information of 30,000
resumes. Here is how our recruiting software
does it.
When the resume is processed, extracted or
parsed by ResumeMirror's iRex Gopher already knows the keywords to
look for AND THE SYNONYMS or like phrases i.e. GL, G/L
etc. It finds these words in the resumes and places them on
the main screen written only one way 'GENERAL
LEDGER'.

Now we have really speeded up the
searching process because you the recruiter can
stay on the one screen and find all the applicants with the
right stuff for the position and each
screen with the right stuff has everything about the applicant. The recruiter
does not have to navigate or push buttons to uncover all the information
needed.
Our staffing software
resume extraction for keywords is also dynamic. As you find
new keywords for your search assignments enter them into
your dictionary just like MS WORD'S spell checker and our
recruiting software will not only remember it but can go back
and re-examine all the resumes for this word. This also works for
keyword variations. If you come across a resume where a
person has found yet another creative way to write a variation for
a keyword put the variation in the dictionary and resume database
software will do the rest.
Applicant
tracking also needs a snapshot view of the applicant's work
history. As a recruiter you do not want to be scrolling down a
screen while a client is on the phone trying to identify start and
end dates, titles, companies, salaries and reason's for
leaving. Recruitment demands short crisp conversations with the
client and a concise work history immediately available is a
must for any staffing software system. Gopher handles this
need quite nicely, thank you. Our recruitment software has
only six screens and one main screen, but from any 6 of the screens
a click of the applicants name will bring you
this very concise snapshot of the applicants work
history.
