Lesson Eight - Viewing Snap Shots

This lesson introduces Snap Shots. Snap shots may be used to record and then subsequently view when needed a brief script background or any other information useful when dealing with an individual or company. Snap shots are available when a Profile, Resume, Memo, Position or Tracking record is selected and the tab is in the no command mode. A pair of eyes  will appear when the mouse is positioned over the Last Name or the Company Name. When the pair of eyes is visible you may double click in the selected field with the LEFT mouse button in order to view a snap shot of the person or company.

EXERCISE ONE

We will review the fields in the Snap Shot Person.

  1. Select the Profile tab  and Query for Jim Black.
  2. Position the mouse over Black. A pair of eyes will appear.
  3. While the eyes are visible, double click with the LEFT mouse button.
  4. The Snap Shot for Jim Black will be displayed.
  5. Position the mouse over each of the four tool bar buttons on the snap shot window for a description.
  6. An important feature of the snap shot person is the ability to record who the person reports to. Click the ‘Show All Employees’ button and all of the people at Jim Black’s company ‘Slam Dunk Recruiters’ will be displayed. You will notice that Annie Oakley’s name appears as the person Jimmy Carter reports to and her title is ‘Senior Recruiter’.
  7. Click the ‘Close List’ button to return to the snap shot and click the Exit Screen Shot button to return to the Profile tab.

EXERCISE TWO We will review the fields in the Snap Shot Company.

  1. Select the Position tab  and Query  for the company MICROSOFT by typing MICROSOFT* in the Company Name box and clicking Do It.
  2. Position the mouse over MICROSOFT INC. A pair of eyes will appear.
  3. While the eyes are visible, double click with the LEFT mouse button.
  4. The Snap Shot for MICROSOFT INC. will be displayed.
  5. Position the mouse over each of the three areas on the snap shot for a description. The top area can contain a Summary, Biography and Demographics, depending upon the option currently selected.
  6. Click the Exit Screen Shot button to return to the Profile tab.

Congratulations! You have completed lesson eight.
