Import Menu Options

By clicking Import on the Gopher menu bar, you will be offered three options for importing resumes via iRex.  These three methods enable you to set defaults to use when the Profile records are created for each of the applicants.  For example, if you are importing a group of resumes that should all be given a specific Job Code and/or Industry Code, it would be best to use one of the options on the Import menu.  These three iRex import menu options are described below.

Note:  It is recommended that if you intend to use the menu options for importing resumes using iRex, the ‘Cycle in minutes’ for iRex should be set to 0.  This can be found on the User Options tab in Gopher Options.

iRex Import via Pasted Resumes

This iRex option will enable you to paste the text of a resume into the box in order to import the resume into Gopher.  This option will be helpful if an applicant emailed the resume to you and the resume is in the body of the email as opposed to an attachment.  Follow these steps to import a resume using this method:

1)  Highlight the text of the resume and copy it.

2)  In Gopher, click Import on the menu bar and click iRex import via pasted resume.

3)  Click the PasteResumeToTextBox button or RIGHT click in the text box and click Paste.

4)  If you wish to edit the resume prior to importing it, do so now.

5)  If you wish to change the defaults to be associated with the applicant’s Profile record, do so now in the ‘Profile Defaults’ section.

6)  If you wish to select the position(s) that the applicant might be a good match for, do so now by clicking View Positions for import selections (above the ‘Files’ box) and selecting the applicable position(s).  The selected positions will be saved to the applicant’s target list.  For more information on target lists, refer to “Target Lists” in the “Working with Lists” chapter. Click Close position list to remove the positions from the screen.

7)  When you are ready to import the resume, click the BeginIRexImportButton button.
